As a parent/guardian in the Urbandale Community School District, you’ll need to create accounts for important websites and apps that keep you connected with your child’s education.
Below is a list of the apps and platforms used across our District along with helpful links to get you started. (*= Essential for Payment or Communication)
ACHIEVE Family Portal
What is it used for?
Families with students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) can review your student’s special education information at any time. You can view documents, sign consent forms online, and access records whenever you need.
How to access it
Search your email for the subject “You’re invited to join the ACHIEVE Family Portal.” Click the link in the invitation email and follow the instructions to register for an account.
Didn’t receive the email?
Contact achievesupport@iowa.gov or reach out to your child’s IEP facilitator to update your email address.
Bound*
What is is used for?
This is the system used by the Athletics & Activities Department to sell activity passes, tickets, and Booster Club Memberships. All athletics and activities students must be registered through Bound for their physical and concussion forms to be uploaded.
How to access it
Bound can be accessed on a web browser. Instructions for how to register your student in Bound can be found in this document.
Canvas
What is it used for?
This is our Learning Management System for students grades 6-12 to view their class information such as calendars, assignments, and resources if their teacher chooses to use Canvas.
How to access it
Students should access Canvas through Classlink (English version). Students could also download the Canvas Student app on Google Play or the App Store. Parents/guardians can access Canvas via a web-browser at this district specific site. Parents can also download the Canvas Parent app on Google Play or the App Store. To pair with a student, parents/guardians will need an observer code. Review guidance on how to become a Canvas Parent Observer.
GoGuardian
What is it used for?
GoGuardian is a device management system. You can supervise your child’s technology use on District devices.
How to access it
Download in the App Store or on Google Play. *Enter the email address registered with the school. Note: If you forgot your registered email address, please reach out to your school main office.*
LINQ Connect*
What is it used for?
Pay for student’s lunches, view meal menus for your school, and apply for free/reduced meals. (LINQ service fee is 3.95% with a minimum of $2.85. You are always welcome to pay by cash or check at your child’s school.)
How to access it
Register or Sign In to LINQ Connect.
ParentSquare / Urbandale App*
What is it used for?
We’re using Urbandale ParentSquare for school-to-home communications.
Receive UCSD news, updates, and alerts by activating your Urbandale ParentSquare account.
How to access it
You’ll need to activate your account in a browser (e.g. Chrome). Once activated, you can download the app by searching ‘Urbandale’ in the App Store or Google Play and log in on the app. Learn more about ParentSquare.
Powerschool*
What is it used for?
PowerSchool is our student database. You/your students can see: teachers and class schedule, assignments and grades, attendance monitoring, pay for books & materials and busing fees through a web browser (Note: The app does not work for payments.), and annual student registration (Forms).
How to access it
You can register for an account after your child(ren) is enrolled. If you need assistance please contact the District Office. Log In via Browser. Download in the App Store or on Google Play.
RevTrak*
What is it used for?
Make payments for Adventuretime Services, Chromebook repair, library fees, and more. (RevTrak service fee is 3.83% on credit/debit cards and 2.99% for E-checks. You are always welcome to pay by cash or check at the District/School Office.)
How to access it
Register or Sign In to RevTrak.
Seesaw
What is it used for?
Digital Learning Portfolio used by Elementary teachers to share photos and videos of what your students are learning throughout the day and school year.
How to access it
Download in the App Store or on Google Play.
Xello
What is it used for?
Explore your child’s course plans, career interests, and post-secondary goals.
How to access it
Get your Xello account set up and started.
